My 3 month stint in Southeast Asia absolutely cemented my love for travel and adventure but its the Instagram account of Escape Brooklyn that got me curious about travel destinations a little closer to home. Escape Brooklyn is a fantastic resource for those looking for a day or weekend jaunt up north of the city with hypnotizing photography of great restaurants, bars, museums, antique shops and hotels. While I dream of doing these types of things with a SO, I decided to that shouldn’t impact me uncovering one of these towns so I decided to role solo, spending a weekend upstate in Rosendale, NY. It’s an easy bus ride from Port Authority and found a great spot to rent on ol’ faithful Airbnb. For the entire weekend it was easy reading, writing, hiking, and eating, obvs.
